In Greene County district court Jeffrey L. Van Pelt, 52, of Grand Junction was granted a deferred judgment after he pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct, amended from assault causing bodily injury or mental illness. He must pay a $105 civil penalty and perform 50 hours of community service. He was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for 12 months. He must also undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment, as well as attending an assaultive behavior class. Court costs were $100. Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Duane Allan Johnson, 67, of Dawson, driving while license revoked; and Jasper J. Scheuermann, 37, of Bagley, driving while license barred. Trial dates were set for Nov. 4 in both cases.
A case was initiated against Erick Eduardo Ramos Rivera, 36, of Humboldt on a charge of operating while intoxicated.
